(a) whether National Commission for Women does not have the powers to appoint experts;

(b) if so, whether any action has been taken to rest the commission with such additional powers including investigation and institution prosecutions;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(a) As per Section 8 of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has powers to appoint committees for dealing with such special issues as may be taken up by the Commission from time to time and to appoint in such committees such number of persons as the NCW may deem fit.

(b),(c)&(d) In this regard, the various provisions of the Act will be examined and appropriate amendment will be brought before the Parliament.
