(a) whether the Railways contemplating to set up a zonal office of the Railways in
Ranchi, Jharkhand State;
(b) if so, the time by which the construction work of this proposed railway zone
is likely to be started; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): No, Sir.
(b): Does not arise.
(c): New Zones are set up keeping in view factors like size, workload, accessibility,
traffic pattern and other operating / administrative requirements etc. consistent
with the needs of economy and efficiency without any regional considerations.
When examined in the light of these considerations a Zonal office in Ranchi has not
been found feasible.
