Question : Budget Allocation to NDRF

(a) whether there is a decline in the allocation of funds to NDRF, if so, the reasons therefor along with the details of the budget allocated to NDRF during the last three years and the current year;

(b) the funds assigned to infrastructure for disaster management and the measures taken by the Government to augment the infrastructure;

(c) the details of the training programmes undertaken for the personnel of NDRF to augment their skills and preparedness;

(d) whether there is any shortage in the personnel employed by NDRF; and

(e) if so, the details thereof along with the measures taken to fill the vacancies, if any?

(a): No Madam.

(b): An amount of Rs.882.24 crore was approved by the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) in March, 2015 for development of infrastructure in 10 Battalions and 10 Team Locations of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) during the period from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

(c): Training of NDRF personnel to augment their skills and preparedness is a continuous process. The details of the training programmes undertaken by the NDRF personnel are given at Annexure-I;
