Question : RELLIEF TO FLOOD VICTIMS



(a) whether the Government have ordered release of foodgrains from FCI stocks to families of flood victims in the State of West Bengal;

(b) if so, the quantum of such stock released; and

(c) the terms and conditions laid down by the Government for such release of foodgrains?

(a), (b) & (c) : An additional allocation of 87080 (Eight Seven Thousand Eighty) tonnes of rice has been given to the Government of West Bengal at below poverty line families (BPL) rate for distribution to the flood affected families (both BPL & APL) at the rate of 20 kg per affected family per month. Besides this, an additional allocation of 65,000 (Sixty Five Thousand) tonnes of rice (Grade `A`) has also been given to Government of West Bengal at rate applicable for above poverty line families (APL) for distribution to the flood affected families, as demanded by the State Government.
