Question : Joint effort for Elimination of TB

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) the impact of the Joint Effort for Elimination of TB (JEET) programme in improving notifications from the private sector;

(b) the State which has the highest proportion of TB patients being notified from the private sector along with the reasons therefor;

(c) the number of other Public-Private Mix (PPM) schemes being implemented under the TB programme in various States, State/UT-wise;

(d) the funds allocated by the Government and each State for such PPM schemes and funds disbursed to each district, State/UT-wise; and

(e) the details of the new districts where new PPM schemes have been approved and those where it has been initiated/launched, State/UT-wise?

(a): JEET Project is implemented in 25 States/UTs with Patient Provider Support Agency (PPSA) in 45 cities and PPSA lite interventions in 385 districts.
The JEET Project has been implemented since May 2018.
In 2019 year, 5.6 lakh TB patients have been notified from private sector. 40% of notification of TB patients (2,15,145) from private sectors in the country, are contributed at the PPSA sites of the JEET Project in 2019.
(b): In 2019, Uttar Pradesh has the highest proportion of total TB patients notified in the country from private sector. This is due to its highest population.
(c): There are 22 PPM schemes being implemented under the TB programme in various States/UTs.
No. of PPM scheme projects, implemented under the TB programme in various State / UT wise is placed at annexure-I.
(d): The funds allocated under NHM, State/UT wise for such PPM schemes is placed at annexure -II.
Public health being a State subject, the primary responsibility of implementation of RNTCP lies with the State/UT Governments. However, under NHM, financial support is provided to the States/UTs as approved in the PIP plans annually. The details of funds disbursed by the State / UT to district is not maintained centrally.
(e): The “Guidance Document on Partnerships under RNTCP” for new PPM schemes has been launched on 16th November 2019.
