(a) whether the Government is aware that adequate facilities are not available at present at Delhi Cantt. Station for the passenger of ‘Palace on Wheel’ train running from the same station;
(b) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto;
(c) whether the Department of Tourism has submitted any proposal to run this train from Safdarjung station instead of Delhi Cantt.; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government thereon?

(a) & (b): Delhi Cantonment is an important “A†class
station. All the prestigious trains like the “Palace on
Wheelsâ€, “Royal Orient Express†and the “Fairy Queen†run
from Delhi Cantonment station. This station has all the
necessary facilities like Very Important Person (VIP)
lounge, Pedestrian Path-way, Water Cooler, Foot over bridge,
Passenger Reservation System (PRS), Catering/Vending stalls,
Coolies etc.
