(a) whether the Union Government has any proposal to establish a food park in Perambalur in Tamil Nadu for the improvement of job opportunities for unemployed youths in Perambalur and its surrounding areas;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, whether such proposal will be considered for implementation in future; and
(d) the total number of new food parks that have been established in Tamil Nadu in the last three years, location-wise?

(a) & (b): Ministry of Food Processing Industries has been implementing Mega Food Park Scheme (MFPS) to create modern infrastructure for the food processing and presently there is no proposal under consideration with the Ministry for establishment of Mega Food Park in Perambalur in Tamil Nadu.
(c): The proposals under scheme for Mega Food Park for setting up of Mega Food Parks in the country are invited through Expression of Interest (EoI) from time to time. The willing entrepreneurs in the country including Tamil Nadu may apply for setting up of Mega Food Parks as per provisions of the guidelines of scheme for Mega Food Park as and when EoI is invited by the Ministry. Selection of suitable proposals for these projects is done as per the Scheme guidelines, based on the merit, through a stringent appraisal process as per the prefixed criteria.
(d): Ministry has not accorded final approval to any project for setting up of Mega Food Park in the state of Tamil Nadu during last three years.
