Question : TELECOM FACILITIES

(a) whether any special scheme has been formulated for expansion / development of telephone services / telephone exchanges in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh;

(b) if so, the details thereof seperately;

(c) whether the Government have received any complaints of irregularities while providing telephone connections specially in those states; and

(d) if so,the details thereof and action taken by the government thereon?

(a) & (b). Development plans are being drawn up every year based on requirements of each State. The same is being done for the year 2000-2001 including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

(c) & (d). No, Sir. However, certain complaints are being received with regard to delay in provision of telephone connections in non feasible areas.
