Question : North-East Connectivity Projects

(a) whether any North-East connectivity project being jointly undertaken by India and Japan has been delayed:

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reason therefor;

(c) whether Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA) has submitted the feasibility report on the project and also agreed to offer assistance in outline design and construction of these projects:
(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the time by which the work on the project is likely to be initiated along with the time stipulated for its completion ?

(a) No, Madam.

(b) Doesn’t arise.

(c) Yes, Madam.

(d) Detailed Project Reports prepared by MoRTH for Two laning with paved shoulder of (i) Aizawal to Tuipang (350km) of NH-54 in Mizoram and (ii) Tura to Dalu (51.5 km) of NH-51 in Meghalaya have been appraised and necessary modifications have been suggested by JICA.

(e) Work on NH-51 and NH-54 are likely to be started in April, 2017 and October, 2017 respectively to be completed in 3 years and 3.5 years respectively.
