(a) whether Karnataka Government has sent any proposal to bring Karnataka State under Article 371 of the Constitution by amending it to take up development works in seven districts of North Karnataka; and
(b) if so, the action taken or proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard ?

(a) & (b): A proposal has been received from Government of Karnataka to amend the Constitution to provide for special provisions in respect of Karnataka under Article 371 of the Constitution. The State Government have been asked for some clarifications on the proposal.
