(a) whether it is a fact that the National Commission of Women has made a recommendation that there should be adequate reservation in civil services for women;
(b) if so, details in this regard;
(c) whether NCW has made any study on the percentage of women in the civil services; and

(a)&(b) Yes, Sir. In its Annual Report for the year 1996-
97, the National Commission for Women had recommended that
‘for increasing employment opportunities for women, 30
percent jobs/posts should be reserved for women in Central
and State Governments as well as in public undertakings’.
