(a) whether the Union Government have received proposals from the State Governments to enhance the amount of money provided under the Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana and also to change norms in this regard;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the action taken by the Union Government thereon?

(a)to(c): No State Government has, so far, submitted any proposal to enhance the amount for the unit cost provided under Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana. However, a proposal was received from Karnataka Slum clearance Board seeking the per unit cost ceiling to be enhanced by Rs.10,000/- in each of the three existing categories of Rs.40,000/-, Rs.50,000/- and Rs.60,000/- under the programme. The request of Karnataka Slum Clearance Board for enhancement in the cost ceiling was not acceded to. However, it was clarified to the Board that the additional expenditure on the prescribed cost ceiling, if any, may be borne by the concerned State/Agency.
