(a) whether the Government has proposed to launch new UMANG App to converge existing governance service under one center;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the other key features of this App;
(c) The time by which the Government proposes to launch the application ; and
(d) The total cost involved in the development of this application?
(a) and (b): Yes, Sir. Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) will provide for a single unified platform to major Government departments for mobile enablement of their services. The primary features are:
i. To provide eGovernance services of Central, State Government departments, local bodies and/or their agencies through a centralized platform on the mobile devices
ii. In addition to public services, UMANG shall provide some Citizen Centric services offered from authorized private businesses
iii. Citizens will get a single mobile app for all the services through UMANG
iv. UMANG App will be multi-lingual, with support covering 12 Indian languages, in addition to English
(c): The UMANG App is likely to be launched by Mar 2017.
(d): The total cost involved in development of project including promotion and awareness is estimated to be Rs. 52.04 Crores.
