(a): State/UTs-wise total area under cultivation of four commercial plantation crops, namely, tea, coffee, rubber and spices are detailed in Annexure-I.
(b): Production and consumption of these crops in the country during the last three years and the current year are detailed in Annexure-II and Annexure –III respectively. State-wise data of domestic consumption of commercial crops are not maintained except for Natural Rubber.
(c) : State/UT-wise quantum and value of export of commercial crops during last three years and the current year are given in Annexure-IV.
(d) : Government has taken measures to boost the production and export of plantation crops through the Plantation Commodity Boards for tea, coffee, rubber, and spices which provide financial and technical assistance to the growers and the industry for new planting, replanting, rejuvenation, quality up- gradation, value addition and market promotion. The schemes to promote export of plantation crops envisage providing assistance for participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, brand promotion, public relation campaigns and export of value added products.
