Question : Functioning of PM-KISAN Scheme

(a) the quantum of funds disburesed, the number of beneficiaries identified under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) and the number of the beneficiaries being benefited under the same till date;

(b) the number of beneficiaries identified in Jharkhand , especially Santhal Pargana, under the PM-KISAN Scheme and the number of beneficiaries being benefited at present;

(c) the names of the States where the PM-KISAN Scheme is not being implemented properly and the reasons therefor;

(d) whether any payments to farmers are pending, if so, the details thereof; and

(e) whether the Government intends to provide additional income support to farmers, if so, the details thereof?

(a): The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector Scheme, being implemented since 1st December, 2018. The Scheme aims to provide financial assistance to landholding farmer families across the country, subject to certain exclusion criteria, to enable them to take care of expenses related to agriculture and allied activities, as well as, domestic needs. Under the Scheme, an amount of Rs. 6000/- per year is transferred in three 4-monthly installments of Rs.2000/- directly into the bank accounts of the farmers. Out of 11.93 registered farmers under the Scheme, approximately 11.08 crore beneficiaries have been given financial benefits of more than Rs. 1.37 lakh crore through various installments as on 14.07.2021.



(b): In State of Jharkhand, approximately 26.05 lakhs beneficiaries have been given financial benefits of more than Rs. 2354.11/- crore through various installments under PM-KISAN Scheme. Also, more than 6.43 lakhs beneficiaries are getting the benefits of PM-KISAN Scheme in the Santhal Pargana Division of Jharkhand.
(c): PM-KISAN Scheme is being succefully implemented across the country.
(d): As PM-KISAN is a continuous and ongoing Scheme under which benefit of the Scheme is provided to eligible landholding farmers families as and when their correct and verified data is received on PM-KISAN portal from the respective States/Uts and its validation through Aadhaar/PFMS and Income Tax database, the question does not arise.
(e): There is no such proposal under consideration at present.
