(b) if so, the reasons therefor; and

(c) the time by which this situation is likely to be prevailed?

Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE OF DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL AND TRAINING AND DEPARTMENT OF PENSION AND PENSIONERS` WELFARE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS

(SMT. VASUNDHARA RAJE)

(a), (b) & (c) Government have not issued any general orders putting a total ban on recruitment for Government jobs. However, keeping in view the need for fiscal prudence and austerity, instructions have been issued by the Ministry of Finance requesting all Ministries/Departments etc. not to fill up vacant posts until a review was done by the concerned Administrative Ministry/Department in consultation with the Ministry of Finance (Department of Expenditure). Copy of these instructions have been endorsed to all the State Governments with the request to consider issuing similar instructions.
