(a) the details of schemes under implementation for development and beautification of ghats along major rivers of the country including Ganga and its tributaries with fund allocation for the same so far;
(b) the total expenditure incurred out of it on development and beautification of ghats of Kedarnath, Haridwar, Kanpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Patna and Delhi, headwise;
(c) the progress made so far in this regard; and
(d) the future strategy of the Government in this regard?

(a) River Front Development (RFD) is one of the major component of NGRBA programme as well as the newly launched Namami Gange programme, under which till date, 25 RFD projects have been sanctioned, out of which 24 are completed (Annexure-I).
Five Central Public Sector units namely WAPCOS, EIL, NBCC, NPCC, EPIL have been recently engaged to carry out of work on condition Assessment & Feasibility Study and Entry level activities which includes RFD, under Namami Gange Programme in their respective river stretches in Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
59 towns have been surveyed so far and 27 pre-feasibility reports prepared and received. A total of 1242 ghats, 369 crematoria and 411 VLDs identified so far from the surveys. Out of these 191 Ghats and 64 Crematoria have been recommended by Empowered Steering Committee (ESC) till date.
