Question : LPG CONSUMERS



(a) the number of Indane (LPG) consumers alongwith the domestic and commercial consumers in Sagar area of Madhya Pradesh;

(b) the number of Indane agencies functioning to supply LPG cylinders to the consumers and the number of consumers registered with them;

(c) whether the LPG cylinders are being supplied to the consumers in this area even after 20-25 days of booking for cylinders;and

(d) if so, the remedial steps taken by the Government in this regard ?

(a) & (b): As on 01.08.2010, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) is operating six LPG distributorships in Sagar area of Madhya Pradesh who are serving 49,373 domestic LPG customers, 142 Non-Domestic Exempt Category customers and 458 commercial customers respectively.

IOC has reported that at present there is no waiting list for release of new LPG connections with their LPG distributors in the State of Madhya Pradesh including Sagar area.

(c) & (d): IOC has reported that they do not have any supply constraints and LPG supplies to distributors are being made by them in accordance with the genuine demand of customers registered with the LPG distributors. LPG supplies are generally being made within 48 hours. However, delay may be experienced due to backlog, non-availability of filled LPG cylinders, non-availability of trucks, road breaches, floods, strikes, bandhs, etc. At present, the LPG supplies are normal in Sagar area of Madhya Pradesh.
