(a) whether the Railways has reviewed the movement of Coal and Fertilizers in order to know timely delivery of such goods at their destination;
(b) if so, the outcome thereof; and
(c) if not, the reaction of the Government in this regard along with the remedial steps taken so far?

(a) to (c) : Movement of all freight trains, including those carrying coal and fertilizers, is captured and reflected on near real-time basis in Indian Railway’s Freight Operations Information System (FOIS). This mechanism allows both Railways and its customers to locate current status of a freight train on run as well as assess its expected date/time of arrival at destination station, which do get modified at different stages of the journey on account of various unforeseen or unusual developments. Efforts are continually made to control and minimize transit delays through intensive monitoring at the Divisional level.
