Question : Vacant Seats of NEET PG 2021

(a) whether it is a fact that there was a total of 1456 vacant seats from NEET-PG 2021;
(b) whether the seats had remained vacant even after exhausting all the permissible rounds of counseling and if so, the details thereof;
(c) Whether these vacant seats had been allocated to private and Government medical colleges;
(d) if so the details thereof; and
(e) whether the allocated seats were filled by the said private and Government medical colleges and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has been entrusted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to conduct counselling for 50% All India Quota/ 100% Deemed/ 100% Central Universities and 100% PG DNB seats of Post Graduate courses (MD/ MS/ Diploma/ PG DNB) as per the scheme devised by the Hon’ble Court.
According to the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the MCC of DGHS was directed to conduct 4 rounds online counseling. MCC conducted 05 rounds of counselling for PG seats for the academic year 2021 including a Special Round of counselling. 1456 seats remained vacant. The vacant seats in respect of Deemed Universities were reverted back to respective universities.
