(a) & (b) Two Civil Writ Petitions have been filed before the
Hon`ble Delhi High Court by Shri B.L. Wadehra and Azadi Bachao
Andolan. The above petitions seek to challenge the Circular
No.789 dated 13.4.2000 issued by the Central Board of Direct
Taxes in relation to Double Taxation Avoidance Convention
with Mauritius. The matter has been listed for hearing
on 9.8.2000.
(c) The Government shall make appropriate response
before the Hon`ble High Court.
