(b) whether the export of granite has been affected in recent times;
(c) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor; and
(d) the remedial steps taken to promote export and development of granite industry in the country?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 343 FOR ANSWER ON 01st AUGUST, 2014 REGARDING “EXPORT OF GRANITE ”
(a) to (c): As a result of global demand of granite and competitiveness of the Indian granite industry, granite exports have seen an increasing trend over the last three years. The details of country-wise granite exports during each of the last three years and the current year are annexed.
(d): In view of the increasing trend of granite exports, no remedial action is required at present.
