Question : CBI RAIDS ON DDA OFFICIALS



(a) whether the Central Bureau of Investigation has conducted raids on DDA offcials in the past also; and

(b) if so, the details and the outcome of such raids during each of the last three years?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): During the last 3 years (1.4.2000 to 31.3.2003) Central Bureau of Investigation conducted raids on the offices & residential premises of 13 DDA officials in connection with 3 FIRs i.e. RC No.65 (A) 2000, dated 8.11.2000, RC No. 1(A)/03/ACU 1 dated 26th March, 2003 and RC No. 2(A)/03/ACU 3 dated 26th March, 2003.

After searches on 10.11.2000 CBI registered two more FIRs (RC 75(A) 2000 & RC 76(A) 2000) against two officials for possessing disproportionate assets. The investigation in respect of FIR No. RC 75 (A) 2000 has been completed by CBI and case for prosecution sanction of one official is under process. In the other case of disproportionate assets, investigation report is awaited from CBI.

In case of RC No.65 (A) 2000, investigation report on restoration/allotment of Self financing Scheme flats has been received from CBI for grant of prosecution sanction in respect of two officials (one Deputy Director & one Upper Division Clerk). The cases have been referred to the Central Vigilance Commission for first stage advice.
