(a) whether construction has been declared as an industry and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether a common construction law and a regulatory framework on an all India basis exists to regulate construction sector;

(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) the details of existing rules, laws and statutes that are applicable to the construction sector; and

(e) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to have a regulatory set up/legal framework for the construction sector?

(e) : The Government is in process of enacting the Real Estates (Regulation & Development) Bill. The Bill proposes to regulate contract entered between the promoter and the allottee for timely execution of projects. The proposed Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Bill will have all India jurisdiction.
