Question : Setting up of Small Processing Units

(a) whether the Government has taken any new initiative for providing grant for setting up small processing units/cold storages;

(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) the details of the small processing units have been set up in the districts of Rajasthan including Sikar and Bharatpur; and

(d) the details of the units for which requests have been processed along with those sanctioned by the nodal officers in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh as on date?

(a) to (c): The Ministry of Food Processing industries (MoFPI) incentivizes setting up of food processing units and integrated cold chain projects through credit linked financial assistance (capital subsidy) in the form of grants-in-aid under component schemes of Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY). Recently, Government has extended implementation of PMKSY till 2026 with total outlay of Rs 4600 Crore. The details of Food Processing Units approved for assistance in Rajasthan under Creation/Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities scheme of PMKSY is placed at Annexure-I.

In addition, MoFPI provides financial, technical and business support for upgradation/ setting up of micro food processing units through centrally sponsored "PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme". The district wise loans sanctioned to micro food processing units in Rajasthan under PMFME scheme is placed at Annexure-II.

(d): The details of the micro food processing units under PMFME scheme for which requests have been processed along with those sanctioned by the nodal officers in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are placed at Annexure-III.
