Question : Vacant Posts in CBFC

(a) the number of vacant posts in the advisory committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC);

(b) the time by which these posts are likely to be filled up; and

(c) the number of former Members of Parliament and mayors who have written letters for the advisory committee of the CBFC and the action taken in this regard?

(a) and (b): The Central Government constitutes an advisory panel at each of the nine regional offices of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for the purpose of enabling the Board to efficiently discharge its functions under the Cinematograph Act, 1952.

(c): During the Seventeenth Lok Sabha, references from four former Members of Parliament have been received for appointment of advisory panel members in the CBFC. All such references are examined as per extant rules.
