(a) whether the Government is providing skill development programme for departmental employees and others under the Ministry; and

(a) & (b) Yes, Madam. Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is responsible for co-ordination of Statistical activities in the Country and also for conducting Surveys on various subjects of national importance. The Ministry has been continuously making necessary efforts to accomplish this task by imparting training to its personnel in Official Statistics and related methodology. Subjects/areas covered under various training programmes conducted by the Ministry include areas of Official Statistics, Theoretical & Applied Statistics, Large Scale Sample Surveys, System of National Accounts, Data Collection, Processing and Management Techniques, Information Technology, General Management, Financial Management, Micro and Macro Economics, Econometrics, General Administration, Communication Skills etc. The details of registration made for such programmes in the last 3 years are given in the table below.
