(a) the total irrigation potential (in million hectares) during 2004-05 according to the Tenth Plan;
(b) the part of it through major and medium irrigation and from minor irrigation (in million hectares); and
(c) the extent of potential actually realized?

(a) & (b) As per the Mid Term Appraisal document of the
Tenth Five Year Plan, the target for irrigation potential
creation during 2004-05 was 2.297 million hectare. Out of
2.297 million hectare, 1.551 million hectare is through
major and medium irrigation and 0.746 million hectare is
through minor irrigation.
(c) The potential actually realized by the end of 2004-
05 is about 85 percent.
