Question : Technical Issues in Electric Vehicles

(a) whether the Government is concerned about the technical issues in the Electric Vehicles which has affected the target of emission free vehicles and to save the environment;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) whether the Government has issued any instructions to manufactures of faulty electric vehicles and if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): No Sir, as per vahan portal, there is no downtrend in the sale of EVs. Testing of components for EVs is done as per relevant standards, as specified in Rule 126 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rule, 1989 to ensure compliance.

(c): Sir, no such instructions have been issued by the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
