Question : Amendment in Rules regarding NHs

(a) whether the Government proposes to amend the rules pertaining to National Highways (NHs);

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes to give relief to common man as well as transporters and corporate sector;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the time by when the new rules are likely to be implemented?

(a), (b) and (e) The Ministry has initiated the process of amending the National Highways Rules, 1957.

(c) and (d) Various facilitation measures provided for Transporters are increase in Axle load limits allowing carriage of higher payloads, increase in fitness periodicity from one year to two years, simplification in terms and conditions of National Permit, allowing Transporters to carry documents in electronic form.
