(a): The target set for paddy (in terms of rice) procurement by Government of India for central pool during 2021-22 (Kharif Crop) is 521.89 LMT. Target for Rabi crop are decided before the onset of Rabi season.
(b): The details of paddy (in terms of rice) procured by GOI from various States for central pool during the last five years, year-wise, season-wise and State-wise is at Annexure I.
(c): During Rabi season of KMS 2020-21, a record 61.87 LMT of rice has been procured by State Government/ its agencies against the target of 55.00 LMT of rice fixed in consultation with State Government. The surplus rice offered by the State government is accepted by FCI under central pool stock.
(d) & (e): Yes, Sir. In the States/UTs Food Secretaries meeting held on 17.08.2021, procurement estimate of 40 LMT of rice for the State was fixed by Government of India in consultation with the State Government and Food Corporation of India (FCI) considering estimated production, marketable surplus and agricultural crop pattern. Increase or decrease of procurement estimate is decided on the basis of estimated production, marketable surplus and agricultural crop pattern. *****
