Question : FARM HOUSES

to USQ No. 930 dated February 27, 2001 and state:

(a) whether the information has since been collected;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the time by which the same is likely to be collected;

(d) whether attention of the Government has drawn to the news item captioned `Farm-houses next on Jagmohan list` appearing in the `Indian Express` dated May 20, 2001;

(e) if so, the facts of the matter reported therein;

(f) whether the MCD and DDA has completed the survey of about 2600 farm-houses to ascertain unauthorised constructions in farm-houses;

(g) if so, the details thereof alongwith the details of unauthorised constructions found in these farm-houses;

(h) the reasons for not demolishing the unauthorised constructions found in these farm-houses and the time by which the same are likely to be demolished; and

(i) the present guidelines/norms fixed for farm-houses in Delhi, keeping in view the notification dated 7/8/2000?

(a)to(c): The survey of all the farm houses is yet to be completed. Non-cooperation as well as resistance of owners in some cases, discrepancy between property numbers and building plans are some of the problems encountered by the Survey Teams. Police assistance is being taken wherever required and serious efforts are being made to complete the survey as early as possible. This is also being minitored on a regular basis.


(d): Yes, Sir.

(e): The report has mentioned of the slow progress of survey and difficulties encountered by the Survey Teams as already mentioned under (a) to (c) above.

(f)&(g): Survey work is still continuing.

(h): Action aginst unauthorised construction already detected is being taken in accordance with the provision of Delhi Development Act, 1957 and Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957.


(i): The guidelines are annexed.
