The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has taken appraisal of the scheme of ‘Grant-in-aid to Voluntary Organizations working for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes”, through Expenditure Finance Committee as per established procedure. This was stated by the Minster of Tribal Affairs, Shri P.R. Kyndiah in a reply to a question by Shri Subhash Sureshchandra deshmukh in Lok Sabha today.
He further added that the revised guidelines on the basis of the appraisal aim at enhancing the reach of welfare schemes of Government and fill the gaps in service deficient tribal areas, in sectors such as education, health, drinking water, agro-horticultural productivity, social security etc. through the efforts of voluntary organization, he added.
