At the invitation of the President of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani will visit India from 13-15 April 2005. His Highness, the Emir had earlier visited India in 1999.
During the visit, the Emir will hold discussions on bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest with the President and the Prime Minister. The Emir will also interact with other senior political and business leaders.
India and Qatar have traditional ties of friendship, which have been strengthened by growing economic cooperation, especially in the energy sector. The presence of the Indian community in Qatar adds another important dimension to our relationship. The forthcoming visit of the Emir to India will give further fillip to the multi-faceted ties between the two countries.
