The Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has felicitated the countrymen on the historic occasion of Independence Day.
In a message, Shri Shekhawat said that the Independence Day is an occasion for the grateful nation and our people to pay their respectful homage and glowing tribute to the valiant freedom fighters whose selfless services and supreme sacrifice won us freedom from colonial rule. ‘Let us celebrate this occasion with joy and pride and make ourselves the worthy inheritors of their shining legacy. Let us also rededicate ourselves to the cause of the welfare and upliftment of the poor and the deprived’.
‘May the Independence Day strengthen the true spirit of patriotism and inspire us to realise the ideals of our freedom fighters to secure for the country its rightful place in the comity of nations,’ Shri Shekhawat said.
