Update on Flight Disruptions as a Result of Volcanic Eruption in Iceland

Air India has resumed its daily flights to Paris and Frankfurt besides New York and Chicago. Jet Airways has resumed its flights operating to London from Delhi and Mumbai. Its flight to Heathrow from Mumbai departed today afternoon. Air India’s stranded flight from Frankfurt has reached Delhi today via Egypt. Air India will operate its Delhi-London and Delhi-Frankfurt flights tomorrow. It will also operate its Amritsar-Toronto flight from tomorrow.

As per latest available data, about 3000 passengers for America and Europe booked on Air India are stranded in Delhi. About 1300 passengers booked on Air India are stranded in Amritsar and about 2300 passengers booked for Europe and America on Air India are stranded in Mumbai.

Jet Airways has cleared its backlog for USA/Canada via Athens. Yesterday, Jet Airways had operated to USA and Canada via Athens. A total of 6000 passengers booked on Jet Airways for Europe are stranded in Mumbai and Delhi.

Lufthansa has started a flight to Munich and Amsterdam from Delhi. Air France has resumed flight to Munich and Paris.

Iceland Met office has reported lesser amount of eruptions since yesterday and VAC-London has reported diminution ash concentration over the European airspace.
