Status of CIL’S FSA With Power Companies

Most of the power utilities commissioned up to 31.3.2009 have concluded FSA with subsidiaries of CIL as per the applicable model FSA. Barring Patratu TPP which is yet to conclude FSA with CCL and Barauni TPP which is yet to conclude FSA with BCCL, and Faridabad TPP which has since closed down, all other TPPs have concluded FSA with supplying companies to the tune of 303.70 Million Tonnes. As far as plants commissioned/ to be commissioned after 31.03.2009 are concerned, as on 20.02.2013, a total number of 55 power plants with a capacity of 21,741 MW have concluded Fuel Supply Agreements (FSAs) with Coal India Limited (CIL).

This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal, Shri Pratik PrakashBapu Patil in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
