Specialised IR BNS in Naxal Affected Areas

Government of India has approved raising of Specialised India Reserve Battalions in the naxal affected areas to implement various development projects including infrastructural facilities and also to provide security and technical assistance to such projects. The Special Indian Reserve Battalions will have two components – Security Companies and Engineering Companies.

This was stated by Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
