The Sixth Central Pay Commission has commissioned a study by Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to examine the correct basis of pay increases and their relation, if any, to performance and productivity of the employees and examine the possibility of evolving a direct co-relation between performance related pay and delivery of services.

The Commission has not given its recommendations for providing interim relief to Central Government employees.

This information was given by Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Minister of State for Finance in reply to a question raised by Dr. M. Jagannath in Lok Sabha today.
