Shri Sharad Pawar Condoles the Demise of Dr. Verghese Kurien
Agriculture Minister Shri Sharad Pawar has expressed grief at the demise of Dr. Verghese Kurien.
In his condolence message, the Minister has said:
"I am deeply saddened to know the demise of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the chief architect of India's White Revolution. No doubt the Green Revolution is seventies gave bread to the millions of Indians but the White Revolution added butter to it. Dr. Kurien's untiring efforts and unparalleled dedication helped immensely to solve the bread and butter problem of stricken Indians.
"He changed the face of agrarian economy by transforming it from subsistence farming to surplus proposition. His Amul Co-operative model is the exemplary model in the world, that has changed the destiny of fledgling dairy sector. We have lost the true Messiah of milkmen.
"I pray respectful homage to Dr. Kurien and pray God to rest his soul in peace."
