Shri Rameswar Teli takes over charge as Ministry of State forFood Processing Industries

Shri Rameshwar Teli has taken over as the Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries today. The Minister of State was welcomed by Secretary SmtPushpaSubramanyam and other senior officials of the Ministry.

 

During a brief interaction with Media in his Office, Shri Teli thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this opportunity. He added “at the same time, I am humbled by the scope of responsibility put on my shoulders”.

The Minister of State was briefed on key initiatives and policy issues by senior officers of the Ministry. The Minister was apprised of the forthcoming challenges facing the Indian food processing sector among others.

 

 

The Minister said “the Ministry is dynamic in nature, everyday bringing with itself fresh challenges. I look forward to working with Secretary SmtPushpaSubrahmanyam and her team to meet these challenges”

 

Personal Details:

Shri RameswarTeli, aged 48, is a Member of Parliament from Dibrugarh constituency in Assam. He is a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. Prior to his current election, he has been elected as an MP from the same constituency in 2014. Shri Teli has previously been elected to the Legislative Assembly of Assam in 2001 and 2006 from Duliajan constituency in Dibrugarh.
