Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Minister of State for Communications & Information Technology inaugurated the “India 60 Years” – a Philately Exhibition depicting India through stamps, here today. The Department of Posts is holding this exhibition to coincide with the Nation’s 58th Republic Day being celebrated throughout the country.
The Exhibition displays various panels of stamps issued by the Department of Posts after Independence portraying great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, various freedom fighters and stamps issued on freedom movement. Exclusive panels of stamps showing the progress made in the science and technology fields, defence, Army Postal Service and past Presidents and Prime Ministers of the country are also on display.
