Rs. 200 crore flood relief to Tamil Nadu

Considering the damage caused by cyclonic storm, heavy rains and floods in parts of Tamil Nadu, and in view of the request of Government of Tamil Nadu for immediate release of relief funds, Shri Sharad Pawar, Union Minister for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution and Chairman of the High Level Committee has announced an amount of Rs.200 crores as advance to the Government of Tamil Nadu for undertaking immediate relief works.

A final decision on the quantum of assistance under CRF/NCCF will be taken after considering the report of the Central team which is at present assessing the extent of damage in the flood-hit areas in Tamil Nadu.
