Revival of Water Bodies in the Country

The Government of India had taken up a pilot scheme for Repair, Renovation and Restoration (RRR) of water bodies during X Plan with an outlay of Rs. 300 crore. The Government has further approved a programme for Repair, Renovation and Restoration of Water Bodies with an outlay of Rs.10, 000 crore for XI Plan. The programme covers all states of the country including Delhi. An amount of Rs.189.18 crore has been released to different states during the last three years and the current year under the above schemes .

This information was given by the Minister of State for Water Resources, Shri Vincent H. Pala in response in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
