Reserves of Potable and Sweet Water in Delhi

The Central Ground Water Board has, however, reported that exploratory drillings are carried out by the Board with the objective of delineating aquifers worthy of ground water development and ascertaining their yield characteristics. So far, the total of 334 exploratory boreholes have been drilled by the Board in National Capital Territory of Delhi. The maximum depth explored by the Board is 308 meters below ground level at Rajouri Garden in the South West District of Delhi.

This information was given in the Rajya Sabha today by Shri Ajay Maken, Minister of State in the Ministry of Urban Development in a written reply to a question by Smt. Jaya Bachchan.
