Ram Vilas Paswan to visit Japan

Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Fertilizers & Chemicals and Steel would be leading an official delegation to Japan for six days beginning 10th July, 2006. The delegation comprises of the officials of the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, the Ministry of Steel, SAIL, representatives from FICCI and the Pharma Industry. During the visit, Shri Paswan would be interacting with the Captains of the Pharma, Chemical and Steel industries of Japan.

Japan is the guest country in the “4th India Chem 2006” being organized by the Government of India in association with FICCI from 8th to 10th November, 2006 at Mumbai. The India-Chem provides the Indian Chemical, Petrochemical and Pharma Industries to show-case their achievements and interact with potential customers. While in Tokyo, Shri Paswan would be meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

Shri Paswan would be visiting the manufacturing and R&D facilities of M/s Eisai Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese multinational pharma Company, M/s Mitsbishi Corporation, who are also one of the leading players in the field of Chemical and Pharma sectors and also interact with the representatives of leading Pharma Industries of Japan. The visit would provide an opportunity to the Indian industries to explore the vast potential and expertise offered by the Japanese pharma and chemical majors.

During the visit, the Minister would be visiting the Plants of Nippon Steel and Nissin Steel to see their facilities and interact with the top management of these steel producers. SAIL is embarking on a major modernization plan as part of their Corporate Plan 2012. The visit would also provide an opportunity to see and learn the best practices followed by these steel majors.
