During the month of April 2008, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 67.72 million tonnes. There is an increase of 6.67 million tonnes over the freight traffic of 61.05 million tonnes actually carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, reflecting an increase of 10.93 per cent.
