A representation received on the buyout of Sahara Airlines by Jet Airways (India) Ltd. has been referred to Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices (MRTP) Commission. The Commission has informed that it has referred the same to Director General (Investigation & Registration) with a direction to submit a Preliminary Investigation Report (PIR). The said Report is yet to be received.
This information was given by Shri Prem Chand Gupta, Minister of Company Affairs in reply to the questions raised by Shri J.M. Aaron Rashid in Lok Sabha today.
