Solid Waste Management Project of Alandur, Pallavaram and Tambaram Municipality, Chennai Urban Agglomeration (UA) has been sanctioned by the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under JNNURM of the sub Mission on Urban infrastructure and Governance. Total cost of the Project is Rs. 4421.25 lakh. Out of the total cost, the Centre has allocated Rs.1574.43 lakh, being (35 %). First installment of Rs. 386.85 which is 25% of Central share will be released soon. The Project will be implemented by Pallavaram Municipal Corporation and would be completed within a period of 16 months from August 2008.
Two Projects in Rajasthan – Revitalization of walled city Jaipur, Phase I for Jaipur and water supply transmission for Ajmer City (Bisalpur Water Supply Project). Ajmer, Rajasthan have also been sanctioned. Total cost of Revitalization of walled city Jaipur is Rs. 2896.00 lakh. Central share is Rs. 1448.00 lakh. First installment of Rs.362.00 lakh 25% of central share has been approved. The Project cost of water supply transmission for Ajmer city is Rs.18873.00 lakh. Centre will give assistance of Rs.15098.40 lakh. The Ministry of Urban Development will release an amount of Rs.3774.60 lakh as 3rd installment of Central share.
The CSMC has also approved for Surat, Gujarat second installment of Additional Central Assistance (ACA) of Rs. 812.50 lakh – being 25% of Central share for the Bridge across river Tapi joining Dabholi and Jahangirpura Project. Total cost of Project is Rs. 6500.00 lakh. Centre has allocated an amount of Rs. 3250.00 lakh. For Bridge across Kankara Khadi between Udhna Magdalla Road and Bamroli for Surat Municipal Corporation Surat, the 2nd installment of ACA of the tune of Rs.105.17 lakh has been approved. Out of totoal project cost of Rs. 841,39 lakh. Central share is Rs. 420.70 lakh. Third installment of ACA, for Augmentation of Sarthana, Katargam and Rander Water works of Surat Municipal Corporation approved under Urban Infrastructure and Governance (UIG)[ for Surat city has also been approved. An amount of Rs.1758.58 is being given as 3rd installment of ACA. Total project cost is Rs.14068.65 lakh. Central has allocated Rs.7034.32 as its share. For Surat, Gujarat, a Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) has also been approved. The admissible annual cost of the project is Rs, 26.00 lakh.
