Public Sector Coal India Limited (CIL), earned a total profit (before tax) of Rs.4,801.52 crore during the year 2004-05. The total turnover (net of levies) of CIL during the year was Rs.25,802.89 crore. The targeted profit (before tax) and turnover (net of levies) of CIL fixed for 2005-06 (Revised Estimates) is Rs.6314 crore and Rs.28,512 crore respectively.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Coal, Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
